Working in the erosion prevention and stormwater industry is an ongoing education process, with new technologies and methods appearing every year. What is the best way to educate yourself in this industry? Well it surely isn’t sitting in front of a computer screen alone in an office. Conferences and expos are a great way to learn from hundreds of leading professionals and companies within the stormwater industry about the ever-changing array of products and services available to us. These conferences are being held all over the U.S., but for your convenience, we at CloudCompli wanted to list a few events that caught our interest.

Ohio StormWater Conference
Especially interesting to us this year is the Ohio Stormwater Association’s ninth annual conference, being hosted May 4th. This event’s key focus is on the knowledge and understanding of comprehensive stormwater management for those individuals dealing specifically with planning, design, implementation and compliance. They will be co-working with the Tinker Creek Watershed Partners to offer essential information on stormwater issues from influential and experienced leaders in the field. Environmental intensive workshops dedicated to educating on permits and policies, sustainable development, modifying public behavior, and stormwater treatment. This conference is designed for all individuals who are stakeholders in stormwater management, nonpoint source pollution or the modeling of urban water systems. We know exhibit space runs out quickly because we’re currently on the waitlist! If you can claim a place, don’t miss out on a great conference at an unbeatable price.

The AWWA’s massive annual conference converges on the busy city of Chicago for what promises to be an exciting schedule. Last year, over 11,500 water professionals were in attendance, and this year promises to be even bigger. The distinguishing aspect of the ACE conference is definitely the exhibit floor, where executives and managers, engineers, educators, and policymakers flock to see the amazing array of products and services on display that reflect the latest in wastewater, stormwater, and other water utility areas. Definitely not to be missed. Last years conference polls stated that 95% of exhibitors met their objectives attending the show and 81% of exhibitors rated their interactions with attendees as extremely valuable.

These two environmentally conscious conventions will be conveniently side-by-side in the great city of Indianapolis, StormCon’s location for the 15th year running. StormCon is highly recommended to those working with stormwater management, permitting and pollution control sectors. “Survey revealed 99.6% of attendees found more relevant content at StormCon and were likely to recommend the conference to a colleague.” StormCon is known for its presentations, so don’t miss out on some of the leading innovators giving speeches on issues and solutions for the stormwater community.

With an estimated 6,000 individual professionals and more than 400 companies showcasing at 2016 public works expo, “The exhibit floor isn’t your ordinary exhibit floor—it’s an EXPERIENCE.” This is a great opportunity to further your education in the industry with more than 125 technical and professional development sessions presented by your colleagues and industry vendors.
